Criminal Defense, Local News

Last Sunday Carla O’Dell, 49, called 911 when a man was trying to break into her house. But before the police had arrived at her house, O’Dell shot and killed the man. Police arrived at the home because they were informed there was a violation of a court order call.

Terry Milburn, 45 was killed at the scene. He had forced his way into O’Dell place. She tried to get away from him by running into her bedroom. Apparently they knew each other and that there has been some history of violence between them.

Neighbors stated that O’Dell had gotten a restraining order against Milburn back in December 2007.
The restraining order papers explain that the two of them had an argument on December 7, 2007 and that Milburn would not allow O’Dell to leave the house. Milburn had broken all of their phones. O’Dell was finally able to escape because she used pepper spray on him and then fled to a neighbor’s house.

Police are saying that O’Dell is not being charged with any criminal acts. But the case will be forwarded onto the County’s Attorneys’ office for assessment.
