PhxIt doesn’t seem unique anymore to come across a story about identity theft or trafficking. The following is yet another story that has hit local news in Mesa.
Last Friday there were two men that have been arrested for forgery and identity trafficking in the city of Mesa.
Officials from the Arizona Fraudulent Identification Task Force were able to search an apartment that was located near main Street and Stapley Drive. At these homes, officials found various types of equipment that can be used for identity theft criminal activity. They had found a computer, printer, scanner, card printer, laminating machine, computer software, plastic card stock, and other items specific to forging driver’s licenses, immigration cards, social security cards, and other forms of identification.
All of these items were collected and taken in to custody by officials. Two suspected illegal aliens, Antonio Garcia, 29 and Antonio Gayton, 31 have been arrested in connection with the identity trafficking. They were taken to Maricopa County Jail and booked on a variety of charges. Some of these charges include forgery, trafficking in the identity of another person and illegal control of an enterprise.
