Her family had just moved into this Mesa home. 12-years-old and the oldest of five children suspects that she and her family were targeted because of the previous owners of the house. The young girl told reporters about the burglars who broke into her house.
Apparently most of her family does not speak English. She told reporters that “They were yelling, ‘Give me the money.” She said that her and her family just relocated to this house a little while ago. In a court reports, it states that one of the suspects told police that the house was where his drug dealer lived.
Three men entered the house wearing bandannas. They were armed and held the family which including the children at gunpoint. The ages of the children ranged from four months to 12-years-old. The 12-year-old girl also reported that one of the men hit her mother with a shovel. No one in her family was seriously hurt.
When police arrived the men tried to escape. One succeeded in getting away, but the other two, Demarco Chatman and Camron Perez were both arrested. They are facing charges of burglary, armed robbery, and multiple counts of kidnapping.
