A robber actually demanded money from a Papa John’s Pizza in Mesa and said he was going to return it. Police have the suspect in custody.

Dallas Hartsook was arrested last Sunday around 1:00 pm for allegedly robbing the pizza lace on the 1000 block of North Mesa Drive.

Kristin Villalpando told police that the man came in and seemed to be mentally ill. He could not speak very well. She said that the man gave her a noted that said “give me all the money and no one gets hurt.” She added “I asked him, ‘Are you serious?’ ”

The female worker said that she did just that. She gave him the money from the cash register but then he motioned toward the safe. She told him that it would take about nine minutes for the safe to open since it was on a timer. She then pretended to open the safe but instead hit the silent alarm button.

Mesa police captured him not too far from the Papa John’s. Police found the note on Hartsook. He finally admitted that he committed the Arizona robbery but he said that his intention was to return it. Hartsook has been charged with one count of robbery.
