A robber thought he came up with the perfect crime, but he didn’t anticipate the strength and determination of his victim.
Taylor Kahus-Saccio, 22, was arrested and charged with two counts of theft. Kahus-Saccio attempted to take a woman’s purse that she left in her shopping cart. But to his surprise, the woman actually chased him down. Kahus-Saccio dropped the purse while being chased, but the woman, 27 and weighing about 108 pounds still kept chasing him.
She was determined not to let him get away. The 5 foot 1 inch woman eventually caught up to Kahus-Saccio and grabbed his back. She held him down until the store management came and helped her.
The incident occurred around 1:40 in the afternoon on this past Monday at the Fry’s Food store which is located on Warner and Cooper roads.
Kahus-Saccio was arrested on the spot and was sent to the Maricopa County jail. Police reported that he has no prior criminal record in the town of Gilbert.
After this incident which must have been rather humiliating for Kahus-Saccio, one may venture to guess he will not underestimate what he thinks to be a defenseless woman again.
