AP “There were four teenagers involved in the fatal car accident in western Wisconsin and not one of them was wearing a seat belt. One of the teenagers was killed at the scene.

It cannot be determined as yet if the injuries the teenagers endured would have been less if they were wearing their seatbelts. But statistically speaking, people in car accidents suffer fewer injuries when wearing their seatbelts.

According to the Buffalo County Sheriff Department the car accident happened at about 7:30 pm last Sunday during the Labor Day weekend. Jacob Froelich, 17 was the driver of the pickup truck. He was heading westbound on a county road when a car going eastbound hit him.

This car was being driven by Taylor Risler, 16. Froelich had a passenger with him, Jamie McKillip, 17 who was killed. Risler is in critical condition in the hospital. Risler had two passengers with him. Anthony Owens, 16 and Jacob Teigen, 16 who are also in critical condition. Froelich’s current condition has not been reported.

The local officials are investigating this accident. It is still not known if alcohol had played any part in the accident
