Jimmy Dewayne Waymire from Tucson has been convicted for the stabbing and killing of Ralph C. Romero Jr., 19, a University of Arizona student. He robbed Romero before he killed him on June 14th, 2007.

Police responded to a 911 call to find Romero’s body dead in a Tucson apartment. Romero who was studying fine arts at UA had been stabbed multiple times in the face and in the neck with a pair of scissors. Authorities reported that his hands were behind his back and that he had a cord tied around his neck and arms.
Police ran into Waymire when he was exiting the same apartment complex and had blood on his forearm. He was also caught carrying a wallet that had Romero’s identification card in it.
