It was suppose to be a quick beer run, but ended with charges of aggravated DUI. It started with a female steeling about $50 in beer from an AM/PM store. She ran out of the store and jumped into a car that was being driven by Cameron Grey Jr. 38. After the female jumped into the car, Grey drove away but hit the store manager’s leg on the way out. The store manager suffered only minor injuries.
Police followed Grey as he hit speeds of over 70 mph in a 40 mph zone. Grey pulled into an apartment
complex where he then jumped out of the car while it was still moving. The car ran into the building where there were two kids ages 3 and 9 still inside. The kids were not hurt but the damages to the building were around $1,000.
When Grey was apprehended by police, they reported that he had a “strong odor of alcohol on him.”
In addition to being charged of aggravated assault DUI, he is also being charged with “criminal damage, shoplifting, failure to show ID or license, reckless driving and two counts of endangerment.”
There is no information on the female passenger reported.
