An Arizona armed robbery suspect was killed by a Glendale police officers’ explain that the man they shot and killed last Tuesday was armed. The suspect had a semi-automatic handgun. Police are just now releasing the type of gun the suspect had.
It was mid day when the police were called to a burglary incident in the
neighborhood of 61st Drive near Bethany Home. A woman told police that she had come home to find someone inside her house. The suspect ran away. She was able to provide a description of the suspect.
Officers used this description and while driving in an unmarked vehicle approached a man that fit the description they were given. The man took off and one of the officers chased him on foot while the other officer chased him using their patrol car.
The police were able to catch up to the man who was later identified as 20-year-old David Soto, Jr. Soto then pulled out a gun when he was in a driveway. The officer then shot at Soto twice hitting him in the chest. Later, Soto died from the gun shots wounds.
